Ingredients:
- 2 c warm water
- 2 c organic whole wheat flour
- 2 c organic white flour
- 1 Tbs sugar
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- 2 tsp salt
- Herbes de Provence
- soft butter
Instructions:
- Place yeast, water, sugar, and salt in a bowl and stir until dissolved. Add flour and stir until well blended. Do not knead. Cover and let rise until double in size (about 1 hour).
- Remove dough from bowl and place in 2 rounds on a greased cookie sheet. Cover with soft butter and sprinkle the top of the loaves generously with Herbes de Provence. Let rise an additional hour.
- Bake at 425 F
for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 375 F and cook for an additional 15
minutes. Serve warm. Makes 2 loaves.
