Ingredients:
- 4 lbs. ground chicken
- 2 Tbs aromatic fresh dried basil (crumbled)
- 1 Tbs minced onion
- 2 Tbs onion powder
- 1 Tbs Italian seasoning
- 2+ Tbs olive oil
- 2 tsp fennel seed
- 1½ tsp ground mustard
- 1 tsp ground oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp sage
- ¼ tsp ground pepper
- ¼ tsp paprika
- Mix thoroughly.
- For ground sausage: brown in a skillet over medium heat using a little olive oil in the pan. For meatballs: shape into a ball and either fry on all sides with oil, or bake on an oiled baking sheet at 350 F for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until no longer pink in the middle.
- Drain excess fat.
Add to Betsy's Sensationally Saucy Tomato Marinara for a versatile Ragu that can be used to make a lovely, layered lasagna, pasta sauce, or serve on burger buns for sloppy joes. YUM!
